So I used to have a schedule for when to climb the mountains here and a text saying “if you feel like you want to climb a mountain please get in touch and join me!”
That was my ambition from the beginning.
But reality is that due to weather I had to change the whole schedule so many times that there is no way I can tell anyone “I´ll be at this mountain that date” and sometimes I have to drive the whole night to get somewhere. And I don´t want to tell anyone to come join me during these conditions. I have barley time to update the blog right now cause I either climb or drive (and get almost no sleep). So I´m sorry about that.
You have one country and one mountain missing from your list…
The Isle of Man.
Which is an independent country and NOT part of the United Kingdom. It has its own parliament and does not vote for the UK’s MPs in Westminster.
The Isle of Man is also NOT a part of the European Union and never has been. It opted out from joining the EU in 1973, when the UK did.
The highest point is Snaefell (620.9 metres) and you should climb it starting from Laxey at sea level.
It is higher than 10 of the summits on your list.
Without Snaefell, I feel your accomplishment will be incomplete and you will be forever challenged about it.
Snaefell would make a nice round number of 50 as well !
Snaefell simply means Snow Mountain, as I am sure you can guess.
Best wishes for your endeavour.
Thank you, I will look into this!
Hey Emma,
I’ve only just seen your website and the challenge you’re doing – it’s awesome!
I’ve also got the mountain bug having summitted Mt Blanc in September 2017 and I’ve just got back from climbing Aconcagua in Argentina which is the tallest mountain outside of the Himalayas.
If you ever want a companion for the rest of your Europe mountains feel free to ask – I have some flexibility in my life as I only work Tuesday to Thursday so have 4 days every week to please myself!
Don’t hesitate to try me! You can catch me on insta @anziebel
Cheers x
